Saturday we took the day slow, taking care of things around the house, then spending the evening with a friend from college.
Sunday we went to church, then lounged around till some new friends from church came over for dinner. We had a blast playing in the pool with their kids and making fruit pizza. After they left, we put Ryan to bed and sat on the front lawn watching the fireworks going off all around us.
We got up early Monday morning to pick blueberries. The crop was GREAT! I recommend going out there whenever you have time. In fact, if anyone plans to go, please let me know. I'd definitely go again. We spent the evening making blueberry pies and visiting with Jonathan's parents. We had a great time.
Ryan is getting much more independent and mobile. Right now, he's attacking a picture frame he pulled off the TV stand. He loves to go up the stairs, though he's not very good at coming back down. He opens all the cabinets when we're in the kitchen and climbs on the door of the dishwasher if I leave it open too long. He loves eating a variety of foods--really, anything we put in front of him. We have a great eater! If he sees a tower, he immediately knocks it down. We don't have a walker toy yet, so he pushes a chair around the house. But he's reluctant to stand or take any steps unsupported. He says "Mama," but it means "I want something," not "mom."
This picture pretty appropriately sums up our stage of life right now:
"What, Mama?"
