Well, I'm not so sure time is really to blame... more a lack of energy/motivation to get this thing updated.
I do have to say, I've been really impressed with Ryan lately. From super-cute moments like entertaining himself by chasing a piece of garlic skin across the floor, blowing it along, to major developmental milestones like making his first Lego creation--a car, complete with two passengers. He's regularly using utensils now, making a wonderfully huge mess with everything he eats. He helps me when I unload the dishes, putting the Tupperware away in the cabinet. He loves to take things to the trash... though we're working on only throwing away the things Mommy and Daddy ask him to. He loves to sing--his newest songs are The ABCs (only the tune is recognizable) and The Itsy Bitsy Spider (it's mostly the hand motions on this one).
Emily's due date is quickly approaching--less than 5 weeks away, and while I'm ready to not be pregnant anymore, the thought of caring for 2 kids is still pretty overwhelming. I take great comfort in knowing we have a wonderful group of people ready and willing to help out when needed. I have a feeling I'll be leaning pretty heavily on that support system, at least for the first few months.
We're also VERY excited to welcome our niece, Charlotte Abigail Menger into the world. She was born this past Sunday, 13 days (is that right?) overdue. Kudos to her momma for holding up for so long. Can't wait to see her in person and introduce her to little Emily!
I've gotta admit--we have some pretty awesome blessings in our lives right now. Thankful for each one, and praying that we'll be good stewards with what we've been given.
We love you all. Take care!
